Fog of Seacouver


Dr. Friendly called upon dark powers to summon a storm created by the spirits of water. They did what was bidden, but this brought on the attention of Adad, the Babylonian storm deity. He raged upon the small boat, and across the city, almost drowning Arthur and his new friends. Through luck and the correct prayers they were able to reach land.
As they made it to land, Jake and Delia slipped off into the fog while the others figured out what was happening. Borrowing a van, Vince drove Dennis, Lynn and Arthur to the hospital were they were patched up.
Vince and Shen took Bartholomew to a familiar scene in Shen’s basement. With plastic sheeting and the right words Shen asked Bartholomew what was going on. His goals are to combine technology and magic safely. To do so he was attempting to join the Sign of Venus, who has the knowledge and resources to help him in his endeavor. But he needed to give them a show of his power, to see if he was worthy to join. To do this he was attempting to open a portal to a demi-plane where the Sign could siphon off magical energy to make themselves more powerful. Harnessing the frenetic energy of his Children of Light, who he loves dearly, he tried to siphon off enough of their energy to open the portal without hurting the clubbers… until the characters arrived.
Shen decided to use this to his advantage and has lured Bartholomew with promises of funding and knowledge. All he has to do is become a mole in the Sign of Venus.
Afterward Vince went home to find his apartment a mess, once again. The safe that the lamasu statue was being kept in was blown apart and a huge hole was blown into his wall. Seeing that the Oni Sword was still there Vince merely shrugged, boarded up the hole and set about looking up some information about Adad. This deity had some connection with lamasu that seems to connect the storm with the missing statue.

Dance Fanatica

On the bay, Dr. Friendly notices the fog begin to slowly overtake the ship. So he tries to slide up next to it, but is seen by the lookouts. They hail him and he tricks them into believing his ship was not working (by breaking the engine), and needed to use the radio. They let him up and take him to the helm of the ship, but strangely the radio wasn’t working. Dr. Friendly turns to see the man wielding a pipe and swinging at him. As this happens the fog rushes in on them, filling the helm. Dr. Friendly asks the fog to obscure him even more and he dodges past the strike, and runs out of the helm.

As the party rages Vince decided to kick things up since the demon inside him couldn’t feed on the chaos. Meanwhile, Jake notices the color change from shiny white to red and black and decides that its a threat. He blasts the energy, tearing it away from the crowd painfully, leaving them all stunned. Jake takes another shot at the equipment, destroying it, but the feedback on himself was quite strong. Vince tries to rile up the crowd and insult Bartholomew, humbling him, as the destruction of the lights begins to burn down the ship. As the crowd turns on him, and his ship burns down around him, the technomancer gives up to Vince.

Shen uses the confusion to slip into the back to look for the missing students. He looks in the back rooms, but eventually goes up to the hold on the main deck. It is made up opulently as a hipster paradise with computers and magic paraphernalia. In the back, Lynn and Dennis were being kept in a small locked room. He frees them, and they meet Arthur on the way to the Azure Pearl.

The students have been rescued and the burning rave-ship has been put out, but the storm roils out of control as our heroes head toward the shore. What was Bartholomew up to? Are the student’s alright? What ancient power did Arthur wake up? What does the unseelie-rat want as a favor?

What we know so far…
The Sign of Venus: A group of sorcerers who find power through lust.
The Sign of Venus hired Vince to acquire a set of prayer wheels. In the hands of the Tong Wang Anning Temple it would reduce the sorcerers well of power.

Tong Wang Anning Temple: Buddhist temple, led by Brother Hsi, that wishes to build a new temple that is consecrated by the set of prayer wheels. It will enhance the Buddhists ability to protect the city against spirits.

Cathedral of the Holy Sepulcher: Headed by Sister Mirabella, an ancient nun who has devoted her life to protecting the city from demons. It was broken into by demons and a relic was stolen.

Lamassu Statue – A statue of a lamassu with inscriptions about protection from fear and darkness.

Dragon-wrapped Samurai Sword – An ancient samurai sword with a stone dragon wrapped around it. It is inhabited by the spirits of the last samurai who wielded it and a dragon locked in eternal combat.

Russian Mafia – The Russian Mafia is headed by a circle of Neo-pagan druids. But there is a splinter group led by Yekatarina Rostov, the Head of the Circle’s daughter, who are attempting to gain power by summoning demons. Her group attempted to steal the Lamassu statue, and when they failed they kidnapped Bridget to force Dash to get the statue for them. This failed when the group found out where Bridget was being held and invaded the home. Vince entered the Shadow World, a place in hell ruled by Polunocnica, Lady Midnight, where Bridget was being held. Dash tore through the demons while Shen transformed into Dimitri Rostov and talked Yekaterina down and had her taken back to the real Dimitri.

Lady Midnight – A demon who revels in fear and lives in shadow. Vince reminds her of someone.

A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.
